R.I.P. Giger :(

In my childhood I had two human idols. One was Richard Garriott, the creator of the Ultima series and now Shroud of the Avatar, the second was H.R. Giger, the Swiss surrealist well known for his work as a designer in Alien ("xenomorphs"), but also the creator of Darkseed (a book and a mythical graphic adventure) and a master of the dark art.

I still have a poster of him  in my room here, and I just found out that yesterday Giger died. I can't do anything more but to leave here my little tribute in the form of gallery with their big work. Today I´m a sad llama.

The Swiss creator earned the Oscar in 1980. (Alien, Special Effects)

Giger was influenced by the American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft.

Giger suffered from night terror.

His style "biomechanical" was influenced by Ernst Fuchs and the genius Salvador Dalí.

"Birth Machine" is one of his most famous works.

 Giger directed a number of films including Giger's Alien (1979), a documentary about Alien.

Darkseed was published by Cyberdreams in 1992.

The artist was born in Chur, place where you can find the "Giger Museum Bar".
