MGT Spotlight's Eriador and Vortex Llama

Can someone be enough insane or insensate to interview the evil with hooves? DavenRock, the guild master of MGT, did it in a community spotlight! Yes, I know, usually I make the questions here but...

If you don't know about this community I can add a little information about the guild (and remember that R13 already added a guild system!). Their initials mean "Moongate Travelers" and they were one of the first guilds in Shroud of the Avatar, while the Kickstarter campaign was running.

When MGT started was really an initiative to push everyone to add 4,70$ to their pledges and rush every single stretch goal or, at least, to reach the Tracy Hickman novel. Finally we hit the 2 millions of dollars and we got much more than that, Garriott chicken dance the most important.

I know that it's pretty unusual to have myself in the "Hall of fame", and I can neither to speak well any human language, but since it was touching amusing I will add this demented record to my unholy book:

An Interview with Eriador

As you all know, Eriador has an amazing website, updated regularly, that features many of his own characters and interpretations of current/past/maybe even future events. It's quite fun to read and focuses on a mystical Vortex Llama. Visit the website above for a long while to witness a great humorous outlook about all things Ultima. Check it out. Will you find the Necrollamacon?

Q: Are there any real life accomplishments that you have done or anything that you would deem virtuous?

A: Well, I don't know if "Purple Llama guy" could be called "virtuous". I like to join volunteer programs and last time I was working for an UNESCO international program in South Korea to be some kind of low level ambassador.

But, since my work basically was to work and teach for lovely kids, I cannot say that was a "virtuous" action... It was not a sacrifice at all and they gave more much more that I gave to them. But I decided to continue working in the international relations. ^_^

(Llama note: That sounds as if I were like the Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Sweet, but I could eat your family if I get enough hungry)

And that was the end of the dinosaurs...

Q: Was there any outstanding revelation or cause that made you want to create the Vortex Llama website?

A: I think all started with this web-comic in the forums that was finally one of my firsts entries in the site. At that time I was flooding a little bit the forums with dumb stuff, parodies and "photoshops". So, probably the best solution about that was to find a little corner to throw all my "creativity". And I already had a good collection of pictures, information and hilarious ideas.

Also this was a way to speak about serious or polemic stuff without a bunch of flames, in a "take it easy" style. Then, after a tequila night, the Purple Llama (or maybe it was a shock sock) manifested to me and...

Chasing the most perfect and handsome llama-face never created. A little closer in every release.

Q: If I am getting this correct, the Llama is a mix between the Energy Vortex and a Llama? Care to elaborate? :D

A: Yes, in the old Ultima Online sometimes when you cast an Energy Vortex (some kind of poison elemental spell) it appeared with a llama shape, like the one in my "avatar". The first chaper of my story book, and also first post in the website, was inspired in that.

You can be sure that the Purple Llama is a vehement, chaotic and "hooved" god of death, but an ironic and funny death. The death should have sense of humour, right?

Q: What is your favorite virtue or anti-virtue?

A: Anti-virtue I'm sure: the gluttony. One of my mottos is "Don't be sad, be fat". My favorite virtue... honor! Yes, because that was the "purple" virtue. :D

Words of Wisdom

Humor is the language that intelligent people employ to communicate with their equals.

Enjoy the game and the life!

Thanks for all you have done, Eriador
