Hoof of the Avatar #11: Hunger Games

Portalarium has released some few new concept art pieces lately. That means that I should do the same with a new edition of "Hoof of the Avatar". Or maybe not, but I will do it anyway. :D

Sympathy for the devil

In this last release I met someone that love the destruction as much as me... I could not resist to take a selfie with this burning love.

The Altar of Destruction

Since the thursday you can visit in the PaxLair, Valemark, my own piece of 3D art: The Altair of Destruction. If you are curious you can join any of the "welcome quests" that Winfield prepare, or you can just find it in the upper meadow, where my last piece also was.

My first plan was to create some kind of llama, but finally I choose a more recognizable and universal shape for the purple God of the mortal death: a devilish skeleton. But, since the war is only funny in games, I want to share here another tribute against the war, together with my little creation gallery. :)

Enjoy the release and, please, kill a lot of people!

Be flexible, my house

Since the update 82 we have the "Flexible Placement Stretch Goal". Mmm, wait a second... I have some new ideas about my house placement. But, how much "flexible" could the placement be?

Winfield, the PaxLair super master interview

Today we have a supreme interview with Winfield, the master and keeper of the PaxLair. Even if I normally wish to kill and destroy the humanity I'm glad to meet people like him, so I hope you enjoy this little purple interview. If not I could appear in your nightmares...

Q: Where was your love for SotA born? Why are you here?

A: Oh, I am from Britannia, you know ... Ultima Online. I've been there for over 16 years with great friends in the town and Statehood of PaxLair ("Peace Place") and I am still there today. Ultima is in my blood from even further back than that, since the beginnings! Lord British and I are even the same age within a few months; but I have better looking eyebrows, ... hmm, well, okay, we both have good looking eyebrows.

One day I was fishing on a log in my usual fishing spot in Britannia, just near the Olag Hai orc fort. Suddenly, I had heard a voice. Not unlike I am speaking to you now. It said, "Winfield, we need you." I did not recognize the voice.

Was it Lord British? It continued, "Winfield, New Britannia needs you!" I looked around for some mischievous elf or human or orc; they like to play tricks on me. "Winfield, we need you. Come now!" The voice was persistent. It got stronger. So I followed.

3D Art Llama contest

In the past release we already started to see some great structures in 3D. For those that will not be all the time killing "noobs" in the R8 you have here a little new llama contest:

Creating my own NPC

Portalarium just opened the possibility to design your own NPC, so I already started to test with the new face editor:

Human Pax in PaxLair

The R7 is going to be be open again for this weekend! If you want you can check my new Monument to the World Peace in the PaxLair (Valemark).

As you can see now you can play much more freely with the lights (and tomatoes) and with the "decorator tools". That really helps, in especial if you have hooves instead of hands.

Release 7 blues, my little feedback

Today is the birthday of Richard Garriott, the big "B", the perfect excuse to support the game and to buy the cake in the add-on store. I already bought it, so better I'm going to write my very modest and positive review of the R7. I could not play too much but this is what my empty brain thinks:

* Graphically the game is starting to look very well or, at least, much better that before. They still need to work with the equilibriums and lights, but I like it. Well, more purple...

* The players creativity is starting to be crazy and amazing, and the tools to help them are growing. I know that it will need limits, but I hope some flexibility.

Riya's "Storage Room Maze", example of lovely craziness.
